I wish their families well and I hope they do not suffer any hardship. It is times like this that brings back realty. I for one, take their present around us for granted. Cursing them for giving me tickets and making me slow down when I see them on the road. I don't know what they are trying to protect. Are they simply hazzling me because of the sound my car makes and the way it looks? Such is the way of life between civilians and cops. They have a dangerous job to help us when when they are called upon. You people in law enforcement have my respect and admiration. PEACE...

Trust funds have been established for the officers shot to death on March 21, 2009, in Oakland. People who wish to make contributions to the funds have two options:

1. Individual Checks made out to families and mailed to c/o OPOA:

Can't believe I never posted in this thread!

Up here, we all just lost a local officer to a short and sudden battle with cancer. My family and I have known him for sometime and was a great friend to all.
